You know what's suspicious? How much Jean talks about everyone being shorter than him. This is clearly foreshadowing for tgr when he just starts lifting people and carrying them away like a sack of potatoes. Cat won't let them go home from the mall early? Yoink. Jeremy stuck with his shitty family? Yoink. Cody looking like they want out of a conversation? Yoink. Neil wants to say literally anything to a camera? Yoink.

Jean I love you and I believe you can overcome any obstacle but also. Most of these obstacles are under 5'8" and you never skip leg day. There is an obvious solution here.

jean calling kevin insufferable every 2 pages is honestly hilarious

one thing every character in the series can agree on is how insufferable kevin is when it comes to exy

there is certainly something to be said about how jean uses physical pain to comfort himself (e.g. picking at his wounds, pressing on sore spots to distract himself from reliving traumatic memories) and how the experience of genuine kindness and comfort is painful for him (e.g. someone caring for him or respecting his boundaries feels like warring knots of poison eating through his heart, other people choosing kindness feels like one of riko’s knives carving a line between his ribs)… when you’re so used to pain because you’ve grown up in it, and now pain feels like comfort and comfort feels like pain…
